About the Alaska / Bering Sea Patrol association.

We were originally formed IN 1975 as the Bering Sea Patrol organization. Once those patrols were disbanded by the Coast Guard it became obvious to the membership that they needed to open their doors to any who had served the Coast Guard in Alaska, thus the name changed to the Bering Sea Patrol / Alaska Veteran organization. In 2008 at our annual members meeting we decided to refine our name to be Alaska / Bering Sea Patrol Association so as to clearify that Coast Guard folks - active, veteran and/or retiree who served 21 days in Alaska are eligible to become a regular member of our association.

Our common bond is that we are folks associated one way or another with Alaskan duty and/or The Bering Sea in the Coast Guard who served 21 days of duty to become regular members of the Bering Sea Patrol/Alaska Veteran association. Some of our folks are associate members (not qualifying as Alaska CG veterans) who are friends. Also many members are widow/widowers of former members and if their spouse is a member and dies, they have lifetime membership granted. We also include special folks we want included in our communications such as other organizations and/or leaders in our community.

The A-BSP.org provides quarterly newsletters, email communications, an annual roster of members and annual reunions. Obviously, we also provide this website. On this website we include a listing of all who've contributed and others with their status to A-BSP.org with as many email addresses as we can muster.

You can greatly help the fellowshiping of A-BSP.org by reviewing these lists to see who's contributing and by also encouraging those you know to either become current on the annual $20 contributions or to join up if not having done so lately.

Review the Reunion section to see who's been where in recent years and where about our next reunion and where it is to be held.
